Golden Trail Travel invites you to experience the Mount Pulag and Sagada Cycling Holiday, a meticulously crafted tour designed for adventurous cyclists seeking high-altitude thrills and deep cultural immersion.

Your adventure begins as you make your way to the stunning mountainous region of the Cordilleras. This tour offers the unique opportunity to cycle close to, or trek to the summit of, Mount Pulag, the third highest mountain in the Philippines, renowned for its majestic "sea of clouds" phenomenon at sunrise (cycling routes will be planned to offer the best views and challenges without necessarily summiting by bike). You'll pedal through crisp mountain air, past towering pine forests, and along winding roads that offer panoramic vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys.

From the slopes of Pulag, your journey continues to the mystical town of Sagada. Here, you'll delve into the unique culture of the Igorot people. Cycle through quaint villages, explore the famous hanging coffins, and discover ancient burial caves. The rugged terrain around Sagada offers exciting cycling challenges, balanced with opportunities to visit refreshing waterfalls and enjoy the serene beauty of the highlands. This tour is about more than just cycling; it's a profound connection with nature and indigenous traditions.

This 5-day Mount Pulag and Sagada cycling holiday is fully supported, ensuring a comfortable and worry-free experience. An experienced local English-speaking guide will lead the way, sharing insights into the region's unique culture, history, and natural wonders. All necessary cycling gear and safety equipment are provided, along with comfortable accommodations and delicious local meals that offer a true taste of highland cuisine. Get ready to conquer mountain trails, immerse yourself in ancient traditions, and create lasting memories on this incredible high-altitude bike tour!

Day 1:
Our driver and tour leader will pick you up at your hotel anywhere in Metro Manila. We have no activity today. Travel time from Manila to Mt. Pulag is 10 hours by car. Breakfast and lunch along the way. We will secure medical certificate at a hospital near Mount Pulag as well as our permit to climb at the DENR office. We’ll have a short briefing here. Dinner at the homestay. Please note that there is no fancy hotel accommodation here but comfortable and warm homes.Accommodation: Homestay
Day 2:
Mount Pulag offers one of the most beautiful sunrise over a sea of clouds. To enjoy this we will have to start the trek as early as 2AM to reach the summit before the sun rises. Hiking is around 4 hours one way. If you’re still tired from travelling, we can opt to start late and still enjoy the summit. After our hike in Mt. Pulag, we will go to Sagada by car. Travel time is approximately 3 hours.Hiking Duration: 8 to 9 hoursAccommodation: Lodge Labanet or Saint Joseph’s Resthouse
Day 3:
One of the best adventure activity to do in Sagada is doing the Sumaguing cave connection. It is a huge cave that ends up at the other side of the mountain. See the different rock formations of Sumaguing. At the mouth of the cave is a burial site known as Lumiang Burial Cave. The people of Sagada traditionally put the coffins of their dead relatives inside or at the mouth of a cave. It’s also their unique tradition to hang the coffins at the side of a rocky mountain. This is known as the Hanging Coffins of Sagada. To end today’s activity, we’ll go to Kiltepan Rice Terraces for that beautiful photo opportunity.Distance: Approximately 15 kilometersTrail Condition: Combination of pavement, single tracks, and dirt road with long gradual uphill and downhillAccommodation: Lodge Labanet or Saint Joseph’s Resthouse
Day 4:
See the other beautiful side of Sagada. Today’s mountain biking is a little bit harder than yesterday’s because of steep, technical, and long trails up to Marlboro Trail. It’s called Marlboro Trails because of a couple of reasons. First is because of its similarities to the old commercial of Marlboro Cigarrette where a cowboy is riding his horse. And they say that there were plenty of wild horses before. Sagada also has a huge waterfall known as Bomod-Ok. You’ll get to experience walking on rice terraces and rice paddies in Bangaan on our way to Bomod-Ok. You will have to trek about an hour to reach it and another going back.Distance: Approximately 25 kilometersTrail Condition: Combination of pavement, single tracks, and dirt road with long gradual uphill and downhillAccommodation: Lodge Labanet or Saint Joseph’s Resthouse
Day 5:
We will leave Sagada early in the morning. Travel time from Sagada to Manila is approximately 10 hours. It’s a long drive but we can stop several times on nice spots along the way for a photo opportunity. ETA Manila is approximately 6PM. This marks the end of your adventure vacation in the Philippines End of tour.
